BOARD OF SELECTMEN’S MEETING, THURSDAY, MAY 9, 2013

In attendance:  J. Thomas Hurley, Denis F. Keohane, Kathleen M. Conlon, Annemarie Fagan, Town Administrator and Paula Rizzi, Executive Secretary

1.      Chairman Keohane convened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Office Work Room of Milton High School.

2.      J. Thomas Hurley moved, Kathleen M. Conlon seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the May 2, 2013 meeting minutes as amended.

        J. Thomas Hurley moved, Kathleen M. Conlon seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the May 6, 2013 meeting minutes as written.

        J. Thomas Hurley moved, Kathleen M. Conlon seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the May 7, 2013 meeting minutes as written.

3.      The Board met with Town Accountant Amy Dexter and DPW Director/Town Engineer Joseph Lynch to review the shortfall in receipts for solid waste in the Department of Public Works.

4.      The Board reviewed a draft job description for the Assistant Town Administrator position.  Members will review the description and share any changes so that it can be presented to the Personnel Board for comment on Tuesday, May 14.

5.      Denis F. Keohane moved, J. Thomas Hurley seconded and the Board voted unanimously with Denis F. Keohane voting yes, J. Thomas Hurley voting yes and Kathleen M. Conlon voting yes to enter Executive Session to discuss the purchase of Parcel A off Pleasant Street and Deer Run Lane believing that having this discussion in Open Session may have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the Board of Selectmen and to discuss strategy with respect to the McDonough v. Hamilton, Fandrey, Milton Planning Board and Town of Milton litigation believing that having this discussion in Open Session would have a detrimental effect on the litigating position of the Town and to return to Open Session to attend Town Meeting.

6.      Town meeting adjourned at 11:00 p.m.
