BOARD OF SELECTMEN’S MEETING, THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2012

In attendance:  Robert C. Sweeney, Denis F. Keohane, J. Thomas Hurley, Kevin J. Mearn, Town Administrator, Annemarie Fagan, Assistant Town Administrator and Paula Rizzi, Executive Secretary

  • Chairman Hurley convened the meeting at 6:31 p.m. in the Main Office Workroom of Milton High School.
  • Denis F. Keohane moved, Robert C. Sweeney seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the May 8, 2012 meeting minutes as written.
  • The Board confirmed the meeting dates for June as June 7 and June 21.
  • Joseph P. O’Malley, 84 Decker Street, addressed the Board regarding a request for monthly reports from the Police Chief and the Fire Chief.
  • Denis F. Keohane moved, Robert C. Sweeney seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve an agreement for audit services of basic financial statements of the Town with Powers & Sullivan, LLC for fiscal years 2013 through fiscal years 2015 at an annual cost of $53,000, and to authorize the Town Administrator to sign all pertinent paperwork on behalf of the Board.
  • Robert C. Sweeney moved, Denis F. Keohane seconded and the Board voted unanimously to sign a proclamation declaring the week of May 20, 2012 as Public Works week in the Town of Milton.
  • Robert C. Sweeney moved, Denis F. Keohane seconded and the Board voted unanimously to appoint Marvin Gordon, 163 Gun Hill Street to the Government Study Committee through November 2012  contingent upon approval by the Committee chair.
  • The Board agreed to invite Chief Wells and Chief Grant to every other monthly Board meeting for public safety updates.
  • The Board recessed (7:10 p.m.) until the beginning of town meeting.
  • Town meeting adjourned at 11:45 p.m.
