BOARD OF SELECTMEN’S MEETING, MONDAY, AUGUST 2, 2010
In attendance: Marion V. McEttrick, Robert C. Sweeney, John M. Shields, Kevin J. Mearn, Town Administrator, Paula Rizzi, Executive Secretary
- The Board convened a meeting at 8:15 p.m. in the John A. Cronin Conference Room of the Town Hall.
2. The Board discussed the Police Chief’s recommendations and the interviews for the four patrolman openings in the Police Department. Each Selectmen commented on the success of the interviews and how articulate each candidate was during the process. The Board agreed with the Chief’s recommendations for conditional appointments to these positions.
John M. Shields moved, Robert C. Sweeney seconded and the Board voted unanimously that the following candidates receive conditional appointment to the Police Department pending medical screening, psychological evaluation and successful graduation from the State Police Academy in New Braintree: Walter T. Geanacopoulos, Robert J. Ranton, Christopher Ernst and Christopher R. Potts.
3. John M. Shields moved, Robert C. Sweeney seconded and the Board voted unanimously with Marion V. McEttrick voting yes, Robert C. Sweeney voting yes and Marion V. McEttrick voting yes to enter Executive Session for the purpose of discussing Contract Negotiations and Collective Bargaining and to return to Open Session only for the purpose of adjournment.
4. The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 p.m.
