SELECTMEN’S MEETING       MONDAY, MAY 10, 2004                 5:30 P.M.

In attendance: James G. Mullen, Jr., Marion V. McEttrick, Charles J. McCarthy, David W. Owen, Town Administrator and Annemarie Fagan, Assistant Town Administrator.
                                                
1       James G. Mullen, Jr. moved, Marion V. McEttrick seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the  meeting minutes from the May 3, 2004, meeting as amended.

2       The Board conducted interviews with the following three candidates for the Lieutenant position in the Milton Police Department:

        Brian P. Cherry, 31 Gordon Road, Milton, MA 02186
        Michael A. Collins, 50 Sachem Road, Raynham, MA 02767
        James A. O’Neil, 40 Graziano Drive, Braintree, MA 02184

3       The Board conducted interviews with the following two candidates for the Sergeant position  in the Milton Police Department:

        Charles M. Caputo, 15 California Avenue, Milton, MA 02186
        Matthew H. Mercer, 151 Truro Lane, Milton, MA 02186     

The Board will vote on the lieutenant and sergeant  promotions at its May 17, 2004 meeting.

4       Town Administrator David W. Owen informed the Board that Auto Service & Tire, Inc. of Mattapan, the vendor awarded the Police Department towing bid, has declined to execute the contract with the Town due to what they feel are excessive insurance requirements.  Following discussion, the Board directed the Town Administrator to work with Town Counsel on resolving this issue.   


Marion V. McEttrick moved, James G. Mullen, Jr. seconded and the Board voted unanimously, at 7:05 p.m., with Charles McCarthy voting yes, Marion McEttrick voting yes and James G. Mullen, Jr. voting yes,  to adjourn.

The meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
