SELECTMEN’S MEETING              MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2003               5:30 P.M.

In attendance: James G. Mullen, Jr., Marion V. McEttrick, Charles J. McCarthy, David Owen, Town Administrator and Paula Rizzi, Executive Secretary.

The Board met with consultant George Woodbury and Town Counsel John Flynn regarding the Town’s electricity supply contract.  Our current contract expires at the end of December and Mr. Woodbury has been working on procuring a new contract.  There are new charges to consider beyond our basic supply price, as well as possible new default charges.  After a lengthy discussion on the many variables in procuring an electricity supply contract, Marion V. McEttrick moved, Charles J. McCarthy seconded and the Board voted unanimously to authorize consultant George Woodbury and Town Counsel John Flynn to work together to obtain the best electricity supply contract for the Town, and to authorize Town Administrator David Owen to sign that contract on behalf of the Board.

Marion V. McEttrick moved, Charles J. McCarthy seconded and the Board voted unanimously to award the contract for cleaning services for the Town Office Building and the Library to Clean-Link of Brockton, MA in the amount of $23,349.
The Board had a brief discussion on the Hillside Street parcel and a report of mold in the Field House at the new high school site.

Marion V. McEttrick moved, Charles J. McCarthy seconded and the Board voted unanimously at 7:10 p.m., with Marion V. McEttrick voting yes, Charles J. McCarthy voting yes, and James G. Mullen, Jr. voting yes, to approve entering into Executive Session to collective bargaining strategy,  and to return to public session only for the purpose of adjournment.

Marion V. McEttrick moved, Charles J. McCarthy seconded and the Board voted unanimously to adjourn at 8:10 p.m.
