The thirteenth meeting of the Personnel Board for FY2004 was held Monday, May 3, 2004 in Classroom Five at the Glover School at 6:30 p.m.

Present:        Stephen G. Hennessy, John Pender, Paul Lyons, and Ann White

Absent: Iris Kennedy
                        
Stephen Hennessy moved, Ann White  seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the meeting minutes for April 5, 2004 as amended.        
Stephen Hennessy moved, John Pender seconded and the  Board voted unanimously  to approve the appointment of Donald R. Kearney, 52 Vallaro Road, Readville, MA to the position of Substitute Traffic Supervisor as recommended by the Chief of Police.

Stephen Hennessy moved, John Pender seconded and the  Board voted unanimously  to approve the appointment of  Mary Whitney as the temporary Acting Health Agent of the Health Department, effective immediately, with the understanding that this appointment is for a sixty-day period.  Because Ms. Whitney does not meet all of the requirements and qualifications set forth in the job description for the Health Agent position, the Personnel Board understands that she will handle only those job duties for which she is qualified during this sixty-day period and that the Board of Health will make contractual or other arrangements to ensure that all other functions of the Health Agent position continue uninterrupted.  During the course of this sixty-day appointment, Ms. Whitney’s compensation shall be calculated as follows:

20 hours at Level 9, Step 1                     $501.80
17.5 hours at Nurse’s present salary            $415.98
Total:                                          $917.78
