The fourteenth meeting of the Personnel Board for FY2004 was held Tuesday, May 25, 2004 in the John A. Cronin Conference Room at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Stephen G. Hennessy, Paul Lyons, and Ann White
Absent: John Pender and Iris Kennedy
Ann White moved, Stephen Hennessy seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the meeting minutes for the May 3, 2004 meeting.
Stephen Hennessy moved, Ann White seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the appointments of Todd R. Schmidt, 85 Buckingham Road, Milton and Brian P. Carlson, 5 Centre Lane, Milton, MA, as firefighters in the Milton Fire Department, effective June 1, 2004, as requested by Malcolm Larson, Fire Chief, with the stipulation that all civil service and union rules have been complied with.
Ann White moved, Stephen Hennessy seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the promotion of Sergeant Michael A. Collins, 85 Robin Road, Bridgewater, MA to the position of Police Lieutenant and Patrol Officer Charles M. Caputo, 15 California Avenue, Milton, MA to the position of Police Sergeant, effective May 22, 2004, as requested by Kevin J. Mearn, Chief of Police, with the stipulation that all civil service and union rules have been complied with.
Stephen Hennessy moved, Ann White seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the appointment of Denis J. Murphy, 31 Horton Place, Milton, MA, to the position of W2 , Step 1, Maintenance Man, Apprentice Tree Surgeon, MEO Grade 1, in the Department of Public Works, as requested by David A. Colton, Director of Public Works, subject to successful completion of the required pre-employment medical exam and with the stipulation that all civil service and union rules have been complied with.
The Board noted receipt of correspondence from Jeffrey d’Ambly, Chief Appraiser, Board of Assessors, regarding the Board of Assessors reorganization.
The Board noted receipt of correspondence from Mary Ellen Erlandson, Chair, Board of Health, regarding staffing in the Board of Health Department.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
