The eleventh meeting of the Personnel Board for FY2004 was held on Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in the John A. Cronin Conference Room at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Stephen G. Hennessy, John Pender, Paul Lyons, Iris Kennedy and Ann White
Stephen Hennessy moved, John Pender seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the meeting minutes for Tuesday, March 2, 2004.
A conference was held with Library Director Philip McNulty. Discussed was the Branch Librarian position and the reasons why a non Milton resident was chosen. Following discussion, Stephen Hennessy moved, John Pender seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the employment of Elaine Fort Weischedel to the position of Branch Librarian at the Milton Public Library 24.5 hours per week.
A conference was held with Fire Chief Malcolm Larson. Discussed was his request to increase the hours of the principal clerk from 24.5 to 30 hours per week due to an increase workload in the Fire Department directly related to the collection of fees for permits. Following discussion, Stephen Hennessy moved, Iris Kennedy seconded and the Board voted unanimously to increase the hours of the Fire Department Principal Clerk from 24.5 to 30 hours per week. The Fire Chief assured the Board that the revenues collected from permit fees should increase substantially with the increase in hours of the Principal Clerk.
Stephen Hennessy moved, Iris Kennedy seconded and the Board voted unanimously approve the appointment of Denece Ryland, 67 Maple Street, Milton, MA, to the position of Substitute Traffic Supervisor as recommended by the Chief of Police.
The Board noted receipt of correspondence from Emily Keys Innes, Chair, Warrant Committee regarding the reserve fund transfer account.
