The fifteenth   meeting of the Personnel Board for FY2004 was held Wednesday, June 30, 2004 in the Small Basement Conference  Room at 7:00 p.m.

Present:        Stephen G. Hennessy, John Pender, Iris Kennedy and Ann White

Ann White moved,  Stephen Hennessy seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the meeting minutes for the May 25, 2004 meeting.

A conference was held with David A. Colton, Director of Public Works.  Discussed were  promotional appointments in the Department of Public Works and revised Senior Administrative Clerk job descriptions including  proposed title changes from Senior Administrative Clerk to Senior Administrative Specialist.  Following discussion, Stephen G. Hennessy moved, John Pender seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the following appointments,  with the stipulation that these promotional appointments  are in compliance with all civil service and union rules:

James Donahue from a  W2, Step 1,  Maintenance Man, Apprentice Tree Surgeon, MEO Grade 1  to the position of W4, Step 1, Working Foreman, Public Works Construction & Maintenance Craftsman, MEO Grade 2, effective July 5, 2004.

David Cunha from a W4, Step 2, Working Foreman, Public Works Construction & Maintenance Craftsman, MEO Grade 2 to the position of W5, Step 3, Working Foreman, Public Works Construction & Maintenance Craftsman, Tree Surgeon, MEO Grade 3, effective July 5, 2004.

Paul Scanlan from a W3, Step 1, Public Works Construction & Maintenance Craftsman, MEO Grade 2 to the position of W5, Step 1, Working Foreman, Public Works Construction & Maintenance Craftsman, Tree Surgeon, MEO Grade 3, effective July 5, 2004.

The Board also voted unanimously to approve the revised job description for the three Senior Administrative Clerks in the Department of Public Works, with the exception of the proposed “Senior Administrative Specialist”  title change.   The Board feels  that a job title change would impact every Chapter 13 Level 4 Senior Administrative Clerk and  should be discussed  with  the Town Administrator and union.  

Ann White moved, Stephen G. Hennessy seconded and the Board voted unanimously to  extend the appointment of  Mary Whitney as the temporary Acting Health Agent for another sixty (60) days as requested by Mary Ellen Erlandson, Chair, Board of Health.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
