The seventh  meeting of the Personnel Board for FY2005 was held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in the John A. Cronin Conference Room at 7:00 p.m..

Present:        Stephen G. Hennessy, John Pender, and Ann White

Absent: Iris Kennedy and Michael Reardon

The Board deferred the November 17, 2004 meeting minutes

Ann White moved, John Pender seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve the December 14, 2004 meeting minutes.

A conference was held with Police Chief Kevin Mearn and Town Engineer Walter Heller.  Discussed was the draft article for submission in the 2005 Annual Town Meeting Warrant amending Chapter 13 of the General Bylaws, known as the Personnel Administration Bylaw, to delete  Section V., Fringe Benefits.  The Board would also like the ability to amend the current step plan and hours of employment without Warrant Committee and Town Meeting approval.  The Board  requested that the draft article be forwarded to Town Counsel John Flynn so that he can revise the article so that the Personnel Board would have the ability to amend the  hours of employment and add steps to the salary schedule of the Personnel Board Pay Plan.

The Board noted receipt of the following Memorandum of Agreements:

Agreement between the Town of Milton and the Milton Public Employees Association for the period July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007.
Agreement between the Town of Milton and the Milton Firefighters, Local 1116, of the Associated Firefighters of Massachusetts international Association of Firefighters AFL-CIO for the period July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2006.
Agreement between the Town of Milton and the Southeastern Public Employees Association for the period July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2006.
