Present: Board of Selectmen: Chairman E. Bernard Plante, Francis B. King, Kenneth I. Schold, Brian W. Stowell, Brian M. Ashmankas; Town Manager Spain, Attorney John Giorgio, Brian Turbitt, Tom Fox and Richard Valentino.
Chairman Plante read a letter from Chief Richard Handfield announcing his retirement from the Police Department effective December 31, 2011, he will be on leave from July 1, 2011. He also read a press release.
Motion to accept the Chief’s resignation with regret made by Selectman King, seconded by Selectman Stowell.
Motion carried unanimously.
One Day Liquor License for Marie’s Catering June 11, 2011 at Asa Waters Mansion.
Motion made by Selectman Stowell to approve the license, seconded by Selectman Ashmankas.
Motion carried unanimously.
One Day Liquor License for Bank’s Catering June 18, 2011 at Asa Waters Mansion.
Motion made by Selectman Stowell to approve the license, seconded by Selectman Ashmankas.
Motion carried unanimously.
One Day Liquor License for Creedon & Company, June 26, 2011 at Asa Waters Mansion.
Motion made by Selectman Stowell to approve the license, seconded by Selectman Ashmankas.
Motion carried unanimously.
Discussion regarding Article 14. The moderator asked if the license was specifically for WineNation. The Board agreed that yes that is why they are asking for the license.
The Board discussed health insurance for retired employees. They received a letter from John Doolittle who had individual coverage while employed by the town and now would like to add his wife to the plan.
Motion made by Selectman Stowell to approve Mr. Doolittle’s request, seconded by Selectman Ashmankas.
Motion carried unanimously.
