Minutes

Agenda Item I– Approval of Minutes from March 10, 2010 meeting
Motion: Ron Marlborough moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Jeff Dore.
Vote: No discussion, all in favor, none opposed.  Motion approved 14-0.  


Agenda Item II – Treasurer’s Report:  
Joyce Ostrowski gave the treasurer’s report.  There have been three new donations.  The total fund is now $29,057.32.  
Motion: Ron Marlborough moved to accept the treasurer’s report, seconded by Frank Gagliardi.  
Vote: All in favor, none opposed, no discussion, passed 14-0.


Agenda Item III – Updates:
The Town Manager allows posting of the minutes on the Town website.    


Agenda Item IV – Committee Reports:
Finance/Fundraising Committee Report:  April 21st Meeting,
Rob Morton reported that $132,500 has been pledged so far.  Sale of promotional items is quiet.  Vaillancourt Folk Art will be starting the Santa soon.  The thermometer on the common will be built.  They are waiting on hearing the cost before doing the tax bill stuffer.  Edd Cote gave an update on this Day in the Life book, for which photographs will be taken on September 24 and October 15.  

Motion: Paul Raffa moved to accept the cost for starting the Day in the Life book, seconded by Mary Lou Mulhane.  
Vote: All in favor, none opposed, no discussion, passed 14-0.

Karen Gagliardi reported that there will be a fundraiser at the mall May 19-20.  A percentage of the money will go to the MBC.  There is/will be a PDF on the website about it.  

The Committee’s next meeting will be June 2, 4-6pm at the library.  


Media Committee Report: April 7th Meeting
Paul Raffa reported that May 15th is the date by which he needs articles for the eNewsletter.  The next meeting for the Committee will be May 6.  The website is under construction.


Events Committee Report: March 18th – full Events Committee; April 15th, Ball Committee
Ron Marlborough reported that the Events Committee is focused on the ball.  They had 10 new members at the last meeting.  Bill Kane and Ron are working on the parade, including searching for a band.  The next full meeting will be May 6 and the next Ball Committee meeting will be June 10.  


History Committee Report: Mar. 9 meeting
Carole Chiras reported that the next Discovery Day will be on May 1 – treasured memories of Millbury.  There is an ad in the Chronicle.  The book is going well.  They have been correlating the map with important parts of Millbury.  There was discussion that there should be brochures on the mansions and the history of Millbury that should be given to the school for their use.  There was a suggestion to have an MBC member go to the library meeting to talk about a display.  Chris Sinacola and Paul DiCicco spoke.  Paul said the library wants the MBC to be at the library picnic event on Thursday, August 5.  The next Committee meeting will be June 5.  


Agenda Item V – Old Business:
There was discussion that we should remake the flyer for the Town meeting on May 4.  Joyce Ostrowski is finding out what we can do.  The wine tasting will be on October 2.  There will be a Fireman’s Muster (on August 28, rain date on August 29) and a block party (September 18) that the MBC may want to attend and at which we may want to have tables.  The wine tasting is also on October 2.  


Agenda Item VI – New Business:
There was discussion of chocolate MBC pops.  Send the logo to Karen Gagliardi.  June 11 is the kickoff for the candy fundraiser.  

Thank you to Randy Mogren and Scales for helping at the wine tasting.  


Agenda Item VII – Next meeting:  Wednesday, May or June
The next meeting will be June 9 at Asa Waters Mansion.

Motion: Joyce Ostrowski moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Edd Cote.  
Vote: All in favor, none opposed, no discussion, passed 14-0.
