Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Green at 6:30 p.m.

NEW BUSINESS:
Acceptance of Resignation – Board of Assessors:
Heather Noyes, Board of Assessors submitted a resignation to the Selectmen dated October 5, 2005 effective November 1, 2005.
Motion made by Selectman Cook to accept the resignation from Heather Noyes from the Board of Assessors as referenced.
Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
Certification and Confirmation of Appointment Process – Conservation Agent:
The Board of Selectmen reviewed the hiring certification for the final Conservation Agent candidate, Steven Solbo. All hiring procedures are in compliance for approval. It was noted that Mr. Solbo is presently holds the assistant conservation officer position and has served as acting agent for the Town of Mashpee.
Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to confirm and certify the appointment of Steven Solbo as Conservation Agent.
Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
Correspondence from Beacon Realty Group, Inc. – Land Donation:
Tom Fudala, Town Planner was in attendance to discuss the proposed conservation land donation from Ben DeRuyter, one of the principals in the Mashpee Industrial Park Trust. The parcel is located on Noisy Hole Road (Map #53, Parcel #5) and consists of approximately 7.38 acres. Correspondence was received from Mr. DeRuyter, Beacon Realty Group, Inc. dated September 22, 2005 with respect to this regard.
Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the donation of conservation land from the Beacon Realty Group, Inc. as referenced and subject to the payment of any outstanding tax payments due.
Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
Approval of Main Street Properties Order of Taking:
Town Counsel updated the Selectmen on the Main Street Properties Order of Taking. It was noted the site has been inspected. All structures have been removed. A spillage or release of oil was observed from the site which must be rectified to certify the site is clean.
Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the Main Street Properties Order of Taking Agreements subject to Town Counsel’s satisfaction that all clean-up activities have been met.
Motion seconded by Selectman Cook.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
Blue Ribbon Committee/Conservation Commission Representation:
Selectman Cook stepped down for the above agenda topic of discussion.
The Board of Selectmen reviewed the makeup of the Blue Ribbon Committee as it pertains to representation from the Conservation Commission. The importance of this particular board on the committee was fully discussed.
Motion made by Selectman Myers to draft a letter to the Conservation Commission Chairman requesting a decision by the date of Friday, October 21, 2005 to recommend the appointment of a member of the Conservation Commission to the Blue Ribbon Comprehensive Committee. If a decision is not forthcoming by 9:00 a.m. on such date, the Selectmen expect the Conservation Commission Chair to tender his resignation effective immediately.
Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane.
VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0.
Selectman Cook absent.
Town Meeting Warrant – Discussion of Motions:
The Board of Selectmen discussed motions pertaining to the Annual and Special Town Meeting Warrants on this date October 17, 2005.

Motion made by Selectman Taylor to adjourn at 7:04 p.m.
Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
