Old Business:~ None.

New Business:~
1. New barrier to replace hay bales. Drew showed the members a photo of a new type of water barrier made of nylon which is reusable and easy to pick up.
2. Barnstable grant. Drew said he had applied for grant money to upgrade conservations lands, and we were awarded $5,050 which will pay for a new gate to be installed at the entrance to the sandpits off Grafton Pocknett Road where ATVers and others had vandalized the property. DPW will pay for the installation. The new gate is more fortified than the others out there.
Drew said one of the members of the Mashpee Police Department came into the office this past week. He had recently finished his ATV training, so now there are two police officers out there on ATVs, and they made four or five arrests in the last couple of weeks. Drew said when he and Steve drive through that area they don’t hear nearly as many ATVs.
3. Cape Cod Jeep Club. Drew said he believes their next meeting is in early November. He has volunteered to attend it as well as others who have an interest in the land there. He is optimistic about their agreeing to adhere to certain rules, etc.
4. Falmouth Friendly Lawn program. Drew said he and Steve found that Mashpee has more stringent lawn regulations than Falmouth. Jack said it would cost about $5,000 to publish a brochure for Mashpee, and perhaps we could use some of the money we have from the cranberry bogs.
5. High school projects. Jack said someone at the Blue Ribbon Commission meeting said that the seniors at the high schools are going to have to do public service projects. He said several years ago the Americorps people did a couple of projects for us, and he was wondering if any had come to us recently. Drew said not that he knows of, but a senior last year cleaned up some of the trails in the Mashpee River woodlands, and his younger brother is going to do the same this year. Drew said there is a lot of work out there that needs to be done, a lot of the structures are falling apart, and he and Steve are considering contacting the Boy Scouts to help out.
5. Approval of minutes for 9/28/06.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve the minutes for 9/28/06.
Hearing Agenda:
~
7:00 p.m., Laura Gould, TR, 99 The Heights (construct new single family home and landscaping with associated appurtenances). Steve Wilson represented the applicant. He said the original filing expired before they could request a permit extension, so they are now requesting a permit (Order of Conditions) on what has already been approved.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve this NOI.
7:05 p.m., David Hufnagel, 58 Monomoscoy Road West (continued from 10/12/06). John Ryll represented the applicant. Drew said the applicant submitted a plan that shows the coastal bank, but it was not received five days prior to this hearing, so the hearing has to be continued.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to grant a continuance to November 9th at 7:03 p.m., at the request of the applicant.
7:10 p.m., Stacey Lane, 44 Frog Pond Close (replace or overlay area with wooden decks). Brad Caffyn represented the applicant and described the plan. There is no change in the footprint. Drew recommended approval.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve this RDA.
Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Frances Wise, Board Secretary
