PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
January 9, 2006
The Planning Board for the City of Marlborough met on Monday, January 9, 2006 in the Mayors Conference Room, 4th Floor, City Hall, Marlborough, MA 01752. Members present: Chairperson Barbara L. Fenby, Acting Clerk Philip J. Hodge, Edward Coveney, Robert Hanson, and Clyde L. Johnson. Also present: City Engineer James Arsenault.
MINUTES
On a motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Hanson, it was duly voted:
To accept the minutes of the meeting of Monday, December 19, 2005.
CHAIR’S BUSINESS
Election of Officers
On a motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Hanson, it was duly voted:
To keep the same board officers until we have a full board.
Appointments
The board was pleased to see the prospect of two new appointments being sent to the City Council for their approval.
City Council Regular Meeting Schedule
On a motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Hanson, it was duly voted:
To set the meeting schedule for the Planning Board on the same schedule as the City Council meetings.
Rezoning of Mauro Property
Mrs. Lizotte informed the board that she set the schedule for the Public Hearing on the rezoning of Mauro Property for February 6, 2006. With the new meeting schedule the Board agreed to change the date of the public hearing to February 13, 2006.
APPROVAL NOT REQUIRED PLAN
Slocumb Lane
On a motion by Mr. Hanson, seconded by Mr. Hodge, it was duly voted:
To accept and refer the proposed plan to the City Engineer for his review and recommendation at the next meeting on Monday, January 23, 2005.

SUBDIVISION PROGRESS REPORTS
Update from City Engineer
The Engineer informed the board he was working on finishing several projects including Commonwealth Heights and a few of the older subdivisions.
Forest Trail
Correspondence from Legal Department
On a motion by Mr. Johnson, and seconded by Mr. Hodge it was duly voted:
To accept and file the correspondence from Beverly Sleeper, Paralegal to the City Solicitor regarding the unpaid taxes on several parcels of land in this development.
Fay Farm Estates
Correspondence from City Engineer
On a motion by Mr. Hodge, and seconded by Mr. Coveney, it was duly voted:
To accept and file correspondence from the City Engineer recommending that the bond for the subdivision remain in place until all municipal easements have been accepted by the City and recorded with the Middlesex Registry of Deeds. He also recommended the developer take the necessary steps with City Council to have the acceptance of O’Malley Road, O’Brien Road, O’Leary Road, and O’Grady Road.

DEFINITIVE SUBDIVISION SUBMISSIONS
Commonwealth Heights
On a motion by Mr. Hodge, seconded by Mr.. Johnson, it was duly voted:
To accept and file the correspondence from Attorney David Gadbois, and to extend the time for consideration of this proposal until February 27,2006 per request of applicant.
Berlin Farms
City Engineer Comments
Mr. Arsenault related to the board that the plans could be signed this evening and there were no sewer or water tie in problems that he or his staff was aware of.
Signing of approval
On a motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Hodge, it was duly voted:
To table the signing of the subdivision until the legal covenant has been reviewed by The City Solicitor.
SIGNS
UMASS Medical Center
On a motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Coveney, it was duly voted:
To grant permission for UMASS Medical Center Marlborough Campus for the “off premise” blue hospital signs along route 495 and in other designated areas.

To accept all of the items listed under communications and/or correspondence.
