Minutes of the Board of Architectural Review meeting held on Thursday August 20, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the Courtroom located in Village Hall, 169 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Mamaroneck, New York 10543

Present:

NEW BUSINESS:

1.      1444 EAST BOSTON POST ROAD – SIGNS FOR NEW BANK
        APPLICANT:  BOHLER ENGINEERING
        NOTE FROM BUILDING INSPECTOR:  VARIANCES ARE NEEDED
        FROM ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS (SEE ATTACHED)
        PDF will be submitted showing front and side elevations.  Freestanding
         (monument) sign is approved with proviso the finish will be matte or satin
        nickel and ZBA approval is received.

2.      1501 FRANKLIN AVENUE – PORCH ENCLOSURE
        APPLICANT:  MANDEEP SINGH – OWNER/CONTRACTOR
        Adjourned to future meeting, front and side elevations and material
        for siding will be submitted.

3.      101 MAMARONECK AVENUE – SIGNS AND AWNINGS
        APPLICANT:  FRANK BRAGOLI - NATIONAL SIGN AND LIGHTING
        NOTE FROM BUILDING INSPECTOR:  VARIANCE IS NEEDD
        FROM ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS FOR MULTIPLE FAÇADE SIGNS
        Denied for various design and zoning issues.  Mr. Bragoli will speak to his
        client, will either redesign or go to Zoning Board of Appeals.

4.      640 MAMARONECK AVENUE – AWNING
        APPLICANT:  SALVADOR ZUNIGA – OWNER
        NOTE FROM BUILDING INSPECTOR:  VARIANCE IS NEEDED
        FROM ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS FOR MULTIPLE FAÇADE SIGNS
        Approved with proviso Zoning Board of Appeals approval is received

5.      558 SHORE ACRES DRIVE – ADDITIONS
        APPLICANT:  BARRY UNGER – ARCHITECT
                                   ROBERT ETRE - OWNER
        PDF will be submitted showing elevations, house seems massive for
        neighborhood.
        
6.      822 MAMARONECK AVENUE – FAÇADE SIGN
        APPLICANT:  HANA PILOSSOPH – OWNER
        Approved as submitted

7.      317 MAMARONECK AVENUE – FREESTANDING SIGN
        APPLICANT:  SIGNS INK
        NOTE FROM BUILDING INSPECTOR:  VARIANCE IS NEEDED
        FROM ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS AS SIGN IS NOT 50' FROM
        THE PROPERTY LINE
        Board does not like sign, not in context with surrounding signage.  PDF will be                 
         submitted showing skirt on pole.
      

Applicants must place a notification sign on the property and return a Proof of Service Affidavit to the Building Department prior to the meeting or the application will not be heard by the Board at this meeting

Applicants must bring photographs of the subject premises and adjacent properties to the Building Department at the time of submission.  If not received, your application will not be heard by the Board at this meeting.

Please inform the Building Department 48 hours prior to the meeting if you are unable to be in attendance.

NOTE:  Any application that must return to the next meeting must be submitted to
the Building Department no later than August 21st to be placed on the next agenda.
