Minutes of Transfer Station Committee -- March 25, 2004 5.00p.m.
In Attendance: Steve Maddock, Simon Carr, Pete Bleyler, Cynthia Bognolo.
1. Steve summarized the situation regarding the current contract with NorthEast Waste Services. This was signed July 13, 1998 and is renewed annually, unless a minimum of 30 days notice had been given.
2. Dick Jones had now provided the 2003 costs, which showed that we were paying just on $80,000 and getting recycling rebates of about $2,300.
3. Pete said that the Selectmen would be putting in place a sticker system to ensure that only residents were using the transfer station.
4. There was a general review of possible transfer station sites in Lyme, with comments on the issues involved with each one.
5. Next meeting: NRRA meeting in Concord on Wednesday April 14 9.30 a.m. next Transfer Station committee meeting will be 5.00 Thursday 22nd April at Lyme Academy.
