Transfer Station Study Committee Minutes 2004/01/28
Notes of Transfer Station Committee visit to Tuckaway Timber  -- January 28, 2004 2.00p.m.

In Attendance:  Steve Maddock, Simon Carr, Pete Bleyler, Al Pryor.

We visited the site, which looks ideal for a transfer station.  There is a 5,000 sq.ft warehouse with heating, office accommodation, storage on two levels and a very large access door.  The area to the south and west of the warehouse has hard-standing and an open area beyond, which could be arranged for roll-on containers.  The total site extends into the wooded area beyond

The access road is private and might need some upgrading to handle the increase in traffic.  Left turns on to Pleasant St have a partially restricted view.

Dave Mather is currently also negotiating with another possible lessor.  The likely deal is that he is expecting approximately $5/sq.ft for the warehouse which is 5,000 sq.ft. making an annual payment of $25,000.  This would be on a full lease, whereby the lessor pays insurance, taxes and maintenance.  He will know very shortly if this deal is likely to proceed.  If it doesn’t he is very keen on coming to an arrangement with the town.
