TOWN OF LYME
BOARD of SELECTMEN
Minutes
October 11, 2006
The regularly scheduled Board of Selectmen’s meeting opened at 7 am.
Present:  Judy Brotman, Dick Jones, Pauline Field, Fred Stearns.
1.      The Board met with Fred Stearns to review the status of the various highway projects and maintenance status of the equipment.
2.      The Board will meet with Fred or other representative of the highway department in two weeks at 7 am.
3.      The Board approved the minutes of October 4, 2006.
4.      The Board approved and signed the manifest.
5.      The Board signed the Intent-to-Cut for Gallagher, Map 411, Lot 1.
6.      The Board was updated on the Conservation Commission meeting relative to the Post Pond water level.  The Conservation Commission voted to have one set of Beaver Deceiver pipes installed.
7.      The Board authorized the payment of the invoice for the Beaver Deceiver from the Beach Maintenance line item.
8.      The Board reviewed the Transfer Station minutes, and the proposed notice concerning the new availability of stickers for garbage bag disposal.  The Board also discussed the Transfer Station Budget Committee funding request, especially as it concerned the addition of a Transfer Station Superintendent position.
9.      The Board deferred a decision on the electrician  for the Transfer Station until a recommendation for both the installation of the compactor and the electrician were given to the Board. For consideration.
10.     The bid for the Compactor from North East Waste was received late, and therefore cannot be considered, regardless of the circumstances.
11.     The Board reviewed the CLD proposal, and approved the contract for $25,000 for the work. One item remains to be worked out on the contract.
12.     The Board approve the issuance of two “Atta Girl” letters to Elise and Diana for the work on the town-wide update recently reviewed and approved – unchanged – by the state.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 am.
Respectfully submitted,

Judith Lee Shelnutt Brotman

The next meeting will be held at 8 am at the fire station.
