TOWN OF LYME
BOARD OF SELECTMEN
March 23, 2005
   MINUTES

Attending:  Selectmen Dick Jones, Pete Bleyler and Judy Brotman; staff Carole Bont, Elise Garrity, and Dina Cutting; and Public Carl Larson.

The meeting opened at 8:00 am.  

1.      Carl Larson met with the Selectmen to review the four Cemetery Trust Funds accounts.  In particular, he is concerned about the dissolution of the New Cemetery Fund, which currently receives monies from the sale of cemetery lots.  The Selectmen will consider continuing the New Cemetery Trust Fund for another year, in order that this “maintenance” account is can either be established or renamed.
2.      The Selectmen will send a letter to the Town’s accounting firm, Vachon & Clukay, concerning the number of mistakes in this year’s year-end review.  
3.      The Selectmen approved the public session minutes of March 16, 2005 as amended.  The Selectmen approved the non-public session minutes of March 16, 2005 as amended.
4.      The Selectmen note that the Loch Lyme Lodge v. Town of Lyme case no includes a “Joint Motion to Include” the State of New Hampshire.
5.      The Selectmen reviewed our procedures for verifying our legal expenses.  We have a system in place to ensure that our legal fees are appropriate.  
6.      The Selectmen will be sending a letter to an individual who declined to provide an appropriate map for current use qualification outlining the requirements for current use approval.
7.      The Selectmen approved the Police Department’s Identity Theft Policy.
8.      The Selectmen approved the letter and corrected Lyme Roads map to the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning commission, with gratitude to Dick Jones for many hours of work.
9.      The Selectmen will send a letter to fireman Flickinger with a copy to Fire Chief Hinsley outlining the procedures to follow for when pursuing grants for the Town.  A copy of the Grants policy will be included with the letter.
10.     The Selectmen approved the Historians fund raising project to provide a pictorial book of Lyme, with the condition that the photos are credited with “Town of Lyme”.
11.     The Selectmen signed the MS-2 forms.
