TOWN OF LYME
BOARD OF SELECTMEN
February 16, 2005
MINUTES

Attending:  Selectmen Dick Jones, Pete Bleyler and Judy Brotman; Road Agent Fred Stearns, Admin. Asst. Carole Bont; Public Douglas Capote.

The meeting opened at 8:00 am.  

1.      The Selectmen approved the public session minutes of February 9, 2005, as corrected.
2.      Fred Stearns appeared for his (renewed) monthly meeting with the Selectmen.  Several issues were discussed:  Scott Bailey’s hours as a part-time worker for the highway department; the need to completely vacate the old highway garage; the grader repairs; and the estimate for the purchase of a new one-ton truck.
3.      The Selectmen approved the proposed police polices, with comments, on Automatic External Defibrillation, Preliminary Breath Testing and Preliminary Breath Testing Calibration.
4.      The Selectmen reviewed the Perambulation Report of the Orford-Lyme Town Line.
5.      The Selectmen will set up an appointment to visit the Green Mountain Studios building.
6.      The Transfer Station Committee will respond to the DES complaint.   The Committee has been working hard to resolve known deficiencies, including reducing traffic backed up on High Street, and consolidating the recycling bins.
7.      The Selectmen approved the Intent-to-Cut for the Congregational Church, Tax Map 201,  lot 54.
8.      The Selectmen signed the Current Use update for Map 402/Lot 18.
9.      The request of the Dowd’s Country Inn has been tabled until next week to allow for further research.
10.     The Selectmen approved the “Welcome-to-Town” letters to be sent out to new residents describing Town policies and processes.
11.     Mr. Douglas Capute appeared before the Selectmen to discuss with the Town the upcoming trimming of the trees and underbrush around PSNH power lines.  
12.     The Selectmen reviewed the proposed “All Hazards Mitigation Plan”.  The Selectmen do not support working on the plan.  Neither the funds nor staff support time are available to support the development of the plan.
13.     The Selectmen approved the notice to the abutters of the petition to discontinue a portion of Baker Hill Road.
