TOWN OF LYME
BOARD OF SELECTMEN
January 19, 2005
MINUTES

Attending:  Selectmen Dick Jones, Pete Bleyler and Judy Brotman; Staff Carole Bont.

The Meeting opened at 8:00 am.

1.      The Selectmen approved the minutes of the public session and non-public session of January 12, 2005 as corrected.
2.      The Selectmen denied Dave Hangerman’s request to tap the maple trees at the Academy Building.
3.      The Selectmen will review the list of the Town’s eldest citizens next week in order to finalize the next recipient of the Boston Post Cane.
4.      Pete Bleyler moved and Judy Brotman seconded that the Selectmen recommend the additional expenditure of $25,000 for the Transfer Station from the Capital Reserve Fund (which was not included in the Selectmen’s original budget request.)  Voted on the motion:  2 in favor (Bleyler, Brotman); against 1 (Jones).
5.      The Selectmen will finalize their annual report next week.  
6.      There were no new applications for hardship tax abatements.
7.      The Selectmen approved the Boy Scout’s request for parking on the Common for the flea markets on 5/28, 6/25, 7/30, 8/27 and 9/24.
8.      The Selectmen approved a 3 year contract with the Property Liability Trust for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008.
9.      The Selectmen accepted the Trout Pond monitoring report.
10.     The Selectmen unanimously voted to amend the rate and fee schedule to require that the property owner shall pay any additional administrative & legal costs incurred as a result of beginning construction work without the required permits.
11.     The Selectmen voted that the Chairmen of Town Committees meeting monthly, as well as the Selectmen, be given keys to the Lyme Center Academy building.
12.     The Selectmen voted to go into Non-Public Session at 9:20 am, under the authority of RSA 91-A:3 (c), to discuss a matter which, if discussed in public, might affect the reputation of an individual.  
13.     The Selectmen returned to public session at 9:30 am, having voted to exempt the minutes of the Non-Public Session from public inspection.
14.     The Selectmen will conduct the Employee Performance Review on January 26, 2005 at 8 am at the Lyme Center Academy Building.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 am.
