Minutes 21 January 2004
The Lyme Board of Selectmen convened its regular meeting at 9:00 AM. Allan Newton, Dick Jones, Pete Bleyler, and Carole Bont (Administrative Assistant) attended the entire meeting. Patty Jenks (Town Clerk), Dave Mather, Lindy Mather, and Vickie Davis (Zoning and Planning Administrator) attended parts of the meeting.
The minutes of 14 January 2004 were approved as submitted.
Patty Jenks came in to discuss set-up and handling of the Presidential Primary voting place on January 27. Dick Jones will be at the polls from 7:00 AM - 11:00, Pete Bleyler will cover the 11:00 - 3:00 period, and Allan Newton will be at the polls from 3:00 until 7:00 PM.
Dave and Lindy Mather came in to discuss their desire to obtain a long-term lease on their Tuckaway Timber property, and whether the Town might be interested in pursuing this. Pete will take this information to the Transfer Station Committee meeting on 22 January.
Vickie Davis came in to discuss her participation in a Habitat Study to provide a Natural Resources Inventory. While this is part of the Planning board's responsibility, Vickie will work closely with the Conservation Commission. The Board agreed that this was a worthwhile project for Vickie to be involved with.
Vickie Davis reported that New Hampshire's Comprehensive Shoreline Protection Act is more restrictive than Lyme's zoning ordinance. This has potential implications for property owners on Post Pond, Reservoir Pond, Trout Pond, Pout Pond and along the Connecticut River.
The Board discussed the warrant articles for Town meeting and the proposed 2004 budget.
The Board agreed to mandate that all Town Committees, Boards, and Commissions, other than the Planning Board, Zoning Board, Conservation Commission, Budget Committee, and Select Board, meet at the Academy Building or other public location other than Town offices.
