Selectboard Minutes 2003/11/05
Town of Lyme
Board of Selectmen
Public Hearing Minutes 05 November 2003

At 9:01 AM, the Selectmen convened a public hearing on the two applications received for "discretionary preservation easements for preserving historic agricultural structures."  Allan Newton, Dick Jones, Pete Bleyler, Carole Bont (Administrative Assistant), Cora Emlen, and Adair Mulligan attended the entire meeting.  Sally Ramsden attended a portion of the meeting.

After a short introduction, each of the applicants present was given an opportunity to address their barn and answer questions from the public.

Cora Emlen discussed her barn on Whipple Hill Road, which was built on or before 1862.  She discussed the extensive work she has completed to restore and maintain it.

Adair Mulligan discussed her barn on Dorchester Road near the Baptist Church.  This barn was built in 1910 and she discussed work completed to maintain the barn.

Because of the rainy day, the Board postponed site visits to the two barns.

The Public Hearing adjourned at 9:20 AM and the Board resumed its regular meeting.
