Minutes 29 October 2003

The Lyme Board of Selectmen convened its regular meeting at 9:00 AM. Allan Newton, Dick Jones, Pete Bleyler, and Carole Bont (Administrative Assistant) attended the entire meeting.

The minutes of October 22, 2003 were approved.

The Board discussed various issues around the upcoming budget and the Budget Committee's meeting on November 5.

The Board approved the bill for the work on the Hewes Bridge.  $10,000 of the bill will be expended from the Bridge account with the remainder coming from the Operating Budget.

The Board agreed to have each Town Department Head or designee meet with the Board over the next several meetings to discuss the status of their department and other issues.

The Board voted to assess a land use change tax of $1,070 to Steve Hewes' property, Map 410, Lot 51, and simultaneously, to grant a hardship abatement of the same amount.

The Board assessed a land use change tax of $5,660 to Bayne Stevenson, Map 405, Lot 42.1.

The Board assessed a land use change tax of $862.50 to  Paula Tensen, M 414 L 15.

The Board signed the form PA-43, DRA Assessment Questionnaire.

The Board approved the waiver of fee for a double cemetery lot for Fred Stearns III, since he is a full-time employee with over 10 years of service.

The Board appointed Paul Klee to the Conservation Commission for a term ending in 2006.

The Board is requesting the Public Works Committee to have a contract with CCI prepared for Board signature, and to commence work on a Bond for presentation to the Budget committee.

The Board agreed to cancel the regularly scheduled meeting on November 26, the day before Thanksgiving
