Minutes 6 August 2003
1) The Lyme Board of Selectmen convened its regular meeting at 9:00 AM. Dick Jones, Allan Newton, Pete Bleyler, and Carole Bont (Administrative Assistant) attended the entire meeting. Diana Calder (Town Assessor) and Doreen Godoy attended parts of the meeting.
2) The Board recessed at 9:01 for a conference call with Mitchell & Bates, Town attorneys. The regular meeting was reconvened at 9:57.
3) The minutes of the 30 July 2003 regular meeting were approved as amended. The minutes of the 30 July 2003 meeting with the Budget Committee were approved.
4) The Board signed the land use change tax form for Kimberly W. Taylor's property, lot 36 of Map 406 with a tax of$5,187.50.
5) The Board appointed John Campbell and Roland Smith to the Lyme Center Academy Building Committee with terms to expire in 2006.
6) The Board will await recommendations from the Conservation Commission before appointing members to the Trout Pond Management Committee.
7) As soon as possible, subject to proper notice, the Board will hold a public hearing to accept grants.
8) Pete reported that the Parking Study Committee elected Garry Thrasher as Chairn1an at its initial meeting on July 30.
9) The Board discussed the formation of a Transfer Station study committee, and a number of people will be approached regarding their participation on the committee.
10) Diana Calder came in to discuss assessment and tax abatement issues regarding the historic barn preservation easement program.
11) Darlene Godoy came in to discuss a property boundary lines issue.
12) The meeting was adjourned at 11: 12 AM.
