Board of Selectmen
Minutes 12 February 2003
1.      The Lyme Board of Selectmen convened for its regular meeting at 9:28 AM.  Michael Hinsley, Richard Jones and Allan Newton attended the entire meeting.  Pauline Field (Police Chief), Carole Bont (Administrative Assistant), and Dina Cutting (bookkeeper/secretary) attended parts of the meeting.
2.      Dick moved and Mike seconded a motion to go into non-public session under the provisions of RSA 91-A II(a) to discuss compensation of a public employee with Pauline.  The motion carried unanimously by role call vote, and the Board went into non-public session at 9:30.
3.      The Board returned to public session at 10:40 having negotiated Pauline’s employment contract for 2003.
4.      The minutes of the 5 February meeting were approved as submitted.
5.      The following administrative matters were discussed and/or actions taken:
a.      Two letter complaints involving the police department were discussed with Pauline.  She will draft replies, after investigating the circumstance surrounding the complaints, for the Board’s signature.
b.      The contract for replacement of the Highway Department Garage’s furnace was awarded to the low bidder, Mallett’s Heating Service, for $5,600.
c.      An ambulance bill for $577.00 to Megan Cooper of Hanover was approved.
d.      O. Ross McIntyre was appointed as a regular member of the ZBA to a term expiring in March 2006.
e.      A brief discussion of a request for a hardship tax abatement was held.  It was decided to request the applicants to appear before the Board at a future meeting.
f.      A brief discussion of the Elisabeth Belder property (old Mayo Farm) occurred.  Dick will draft a response to Put Blodget for the Board’s consideration at a future meeting.
6.      After noting that tonight’s joint meeting/public hearing with the Budget Committee had been noticed, the meeting adjourned at 11:30 AM.
