Minutes of the 1/26/04 Lyme Recreation Commission
Present: Tom Schlenker, Cathy Crammer, Doug Vogt, Frank Cutting, Kerry Beck, Peter Bleyer and Tor Tosteson. Visitors- Dianne Strernes & Kathline Henriques.
1. Minutes of the 11/24/03 meeting approved.
2. Steve Small submitted his report. Recommends a gift certificate for refs in Lyme Tournament. The tournament netted $1700.00. It went extremely smoothly with all having a great time. The basketball season has gone well. There has been one serious complaint about playing time, but this seems to have settled between the parents and the coach. Gary Webb sent a letter supporting his actions regarding this. The parents were not present to voice an opinion. The ski program has gone well. We do need to consider having the kindergarten involved as it cost a lot and few participated. Spring sports are coming. Little League may be in trouble. We need a commissioner. Steve said he could run T -ball.
3. The budget committee approved the Rec, budget. Cathy Crammer asked if we might need a full time director.
4. Pete Bleyler made a motion to endorse the philosophy of the existing Lyme Recreation Policy Handbook but not the articles. This was seconded by Tom Schlenker and passed. Cathy will draw up a draft for the next meeting.
