MINUTES
Present: Don Metz, Simon Carr, Patty Jenks, Freda Swan, Jay Smith, Tish Smith, Mike Woodard, Carole Bont
Guests: Dave Hewitt and Bill Lewis
1) The meeting came to order at 11:30 AM.
2) The minutes of January 22, January 15 Public Session and January 15 Non-public session were approved.
3) Bill and Dave presented some thoughts that they have as ways to produce synergy. The addition of the police department to the building was one. They have more recently been looking at various file storage methods including microfilming and storing off-site with a company. They have also talked with Rep. Ruth Bleyler and our Congressman concerning any possible available money. There are no state monies and they have not had a definitive answer from the feds. Carole explained that both of those methods had been researched a while back. The consultant told us that they believed the best way to store information is on paper on
moving shelves. We seem to be caught somewhere between the need to be able to access the files and the requirements by the State for keeping them. A discussion followed.
4) Dave urged the committee to present the financial data in a plain and simple manner at the bond hearing. The presentation for the bond hearing was discussed.
5) The meeting adjourned at 12:45 PM.
