TOWN FACILITIES COMMITTEE
MINUTES
May 1, 2007
Present: Pete Bleyler, Tish Smith, Don Metz, Simon Carr, Patti Jenks, Michael Woodard, Tony Pippin, Frank Bowles, Freda Swan
1) The meeting was called to order at 11:30 AM by Bleyler.
2) The minutes of 3/20/07 were approved.
3) New officers were elected: Frank Bowles and Don Metz as co-chairmen and Freda Swan as secretary.
4) Members were then asked to give their opinion about the failure and what we should be doing differently now. Ideas included ways to involve more people and that voters were willing to pay for what they want. It was agreed that we would ask the Selectmen to advertise for people for the committee stressing reliability in attendance. The members also agreed that they would invite individuals, groups, etc. to attend meetings so that we could receive their input. The Committee also want the minutes to go out on the Town Web Page.
5) The Committee listed the sites that they would be looking at and discussing. They included Alden Inn, Jimmy Jenks Gravel Pit, Tuck-a-way Timber, Lyme Timber, Nichols, Recreate and the library/school.
6) The Committee will ask the Selectmen if they would accept a long term lease.
7) The meeting adjourned at 12:37 PM.
We will meet at 11:30 AM 5/8/07 at Recreate.
