NEW TOWN OFFICES COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
April 7, 2009
Members Present: Frank Bowles, Don Metz, Jay Smith, Simon Carr, Judy Brotman, Michael Woodard.
Others Present: Stephen T. Campbell, Tim Estes, Rusty Estes.
The meeting was officially opened at 8:01 am by Co-Chair Don Metz.
- The police have asked for a steel door for the interior anti-room. Tim Estes will check on the door cost and availability and get back to Frank, Don and Simon.
- The chicken coop will be demo’d this week, along with the walk bridge over the swale.
- The rear (north) side of the building will be planted in conservation mix.
- The committee reviewed the parking lot and driveway access plan with Tim and Rusty.
- When we are ready, Barbara Stern has donated lilacs for the property.
- Michael reminded Frank and Don that conduit should be laid for the Pike house and the garage. Also check to be sure the well pump is powered by the generator.
- Michael reminded the committee that a resolution will need to be made concerning the ice dam issue at the Pike house.
- Don was given the authority to approve the sign contract if the bid is less than $1,000.
- The SAU will not be utilizing the existing Town Clerk’s counter. So the original plan of re-using the counter as a bench is back on the ‘to do’ list.
- The current window air conditioners in the Selectmen’s office and the Town Clerk’s office are offered to the Library on a “Long Term Loan” basis.
- Simon will ask Dina to check with Tasco on the cost of a panic button system for the library.
- Don stated that all donations are on track, with one exception. Don Dwight will speak with that individual in person. Don Metz will provide some current pictures of the facility to Don Dwight.
- The garage will be available for Town use on June 1st.
The meeting adjourned at 8:58 am.
