NEW TOWN OFFICES COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
February 17, 2009
Members Present: Don Metz, Jay Smith, Simon Carr, Mike Woodard. Frank Bowles
The meeting was officially opened at 8:05 am by Co-Chair Don Metz.~~
- The minutes of February 10, 2009 were approved.
- Need to talk to Fred about getting some gravel for our Tenant. Having a bad mud problem since we took her parking spot behind the house and she now must park in the driveway.
- Discussed ice dam problem on the old roof and methods of correcting to prevent leaks inside.
- Discussed using the Butcher Block counter from the current Town Office in the new building. Frank will talk to the Library Trustees about this.
- Discussed the budget and when to make decisions regarding purchases. Need some figures by little Town Meeting.
- Discussed a Mid-June moving date. Need to let Donors and VIP’s know for a showing.
- Discussed whether to bury the gas tank or leave above ground. Very shallow water table may preclude burying to prevent it being forced up out of the ground.
- We need to let Harper Environmental and the State know the approximate completion date. Still waiting to hear on whether additional test wells will be required.
- Simon noted that little Town Meeting is March 3rd and Town Meeting is March 10th. We should ask Tim to be at those meetings to answer any questions.
- Question was raised about a weather vane for the cupola. There are no provisions for one at this time. We do have a 50,000 hr LED light to go inside the cupola.
- The meeting adjourned at 8:40 am. The next meeting will be at 8:00 am on February 24th, 2009 at the Fire Station.
