NEW TOWN OFFICES COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
January 20, 2009

Members Present: Don Metz, Jay Smith, Simon Carr, Mike Woodard. Frank Bowles
The meeting was officially opened at 8:10 am by Co-Chair Don Metz.~~

  • The minutes of January 13, 2009 were approved.
  • Discussed e-mail procedures and what is legal and what is not.
  • Discussed wiring in the Police Offices. Need to put two extra conduit cable runs to the utility room to allow for future expansion. Also need to place conduit in walls in several places.
  • Discussed phone system and panic button. Simon passed out a handout outlining the phone system.
  • Discussed negative remarks. These are not beneficial to the town.
  • Discussed Paint colors for interior/exterior. Exterior will be white. Interior will use a consultant and have palettes made up. Colors will be dependent on carpet/furniture colors in order to coordinate everything.
  • Question was brought up about Landscaping. Except for hard pack for the parking area there is no money in the budget for landscaping.
  • We have received the letter from the State regarding the oil tank spill. The state is requiring two additional monitoring wells to be drilled by April. Harper has not been paid yet for the work done last August. There is some money in the escrow account however more funds may be required. Mike will look into this and discuss with the appropriate parties.
  • Simon made a motion that we go back to weekly meetings as things are moving along fairly quickly. Seconded, So Voted.
We will look into invited users to visit the site with the committee.
Had a complaint from the Tenant regarding plowing late. Tim has the lot plowed for his workers to get in and work but it is done as he needs it. It was decided to talk to Fred about plowing the tenant entrance since we are the landlord and it is not Tim’s responsibility to take care of the Tenant.
  • The meeting adjourned at 9:05 am. The next meeting will be at 8:00 am on January 27th, 2009 at the Fire Station.
Respectfully submitted,
        /s/CJS
C. Jay Smith
