NEW TOWN OFFICES COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
September 9, 2008
Members Present: Don Metz, Frank Bowles, Michael Woodard, Simon Carr, Jay Smith, Judy Brotman.
The meeting was officially opened at 8:00 am by Co-Chair Frank Bowles.
1. The minutes of September 2, 2008 were approved.
2. Freda was not available this week to meet with the Committee. In two weeks the Committee will meet with the Board of Selectmen’s staff, in three weeks the Committee will meet with Freda and Tish.
3. The Estes & Gallup contract should be finalized and signed this week.
4. As we meet, Estes & Gallup are demo’g the remainder of the old barn.
a. Barn electric feed is disconnected.
b. The tenant has been informed of the switch-over of the electric service.
c. Estes & Gallup should have keys to the barn & house by use of a lock box.
5. Frank has an Ecotope proposal to do a preliminary design of the boilers and heating system for the project, to provide a basis for proceeding with the most efficient system for the project.
a. Dom Metz moved that the committee proceed with the Ecotope proposal, Mike Woodward seconded the proposal. Time is of the essence for this proposal.
b. This proposal will give hard numbers on heat loss and various options for the alternatives methods of heating the new town offices.
6. The building permit is in the process of being obtained, and will hopefully be issued by Friday morning.
7. Friday morning may be the pouring of the footings – and the start of the consruction (vs. the deconstruction)!
