NEW TOWN OFFICES COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
July 8, 2008
Members Present: Don Metz, Frank Bowles, Jay Smith, Simon Carr, Judy Brotman
The meeting was officially opened at 8:00 am by Co-Chair Frank Bowles.
1 The minutes of July 1, 2008 were approved. (Thank you Jay.)
2 Don, Frank, Jay and Simon met with Ray at Recreate on July 3rd.
1 Don and Frank met Ray at Recreate on July 7th to move various piles of lumber. Frank brought his tractor down to the site to do the heavy lifting.
2 The previously buried oil tank has been relocated to the Town garage on Monday, July 7th.
3 The report of the site clean-up will be filed in the Lyme Town Offices.
4 Estes & Gallup will have their soils engineer check the site to evaluate the soils for the foundation.
5 Harper Environmental will be at the site on Thursday to supervise the dirt removal. The Town crew will remove the soil and store it at the town garage property.
6 No closing date has been set yet.
7 The committee will get cost estimates from Harper to a typical site clean-up.
8 The Estes & Gallup contract has been forwarded to Town Counsel for review.
9 Simon reported that the legislation has been passed and the Governor has signed the legislation.
10 The official “start date” for construction has not been set yet.
11 There will be a design review session with previous committee members and the general public before the final design is finalized.
Meeting adjourned at 8:50 am.
