NEW TOWN OFFICES COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
MAY 27, 2008
Members Present: Don Metz, Frank Bowles, Jay Smith, Mike Woodard, Judy Brotman
The meeting was officially opened at 8:00 am by Co-Chair Frank Bowles.
1 The minutes of May 20, 2008 were approved.
2 Don, Frank, and Jay met with Harvey Brotman (Chaos Computing) to plan for the network cabeling of the new offices. Conduit will be run through the walls for perimeter access. Wireless access points will be provided in the ceiling. There will be a dedicated network wiring and server closet.
3 Frank will organize a meeting regarding the necessary set-up to establish an emergency center at the new town offices building. The meeting will include all the emergency response departments – police, fire, emergency preparedness – and Chaos Computing, to discuss set-up in the case of an emergency.
4 The existing buried oil tank will be pulled on Wednesday, June 4. Harper Environmental will also be here to assess the site.
5 Don and/or Frank will meet with the Town Clerk’s office concerning set-up for the new office.
6 The Senate and House Conference Committee meets tomorrow. The disposition of the legislative cure should be know by the end of the day.
7 The committee discussed the general concept of partitions vs cubicles. The committee tentatively agreed on the concept of a central corridor, 2 enclosed meeting rooms, and four additional work station areas.
8 Mike will follow-up with Ray Clark to find out if all the oil was transferred out of the in-ground tank last week, and get a status update on the tenant/lease situation.
9 Mike will follow-up on the status of David Ferm’s proposed acquisition of the barn.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40 am.
