Selectmen's Minutes 11/15/2017
Minutes of Meeting – November 15, 2017; meeting called to order at 7:00pm.  Present:  Dave Roche; Ed Lane; Ken Fowler; Warren Archey.  Absent:  Channing Gibson.
MOTION by WA, seconded by KF to accept the Minutes of November 1.  4/0 vote.

Citizen’s Open Forum:  Olga Weiss spoke about the National Register District that she would like to see established in Lenox.  DR suggested that she be placed on the 11/29 agenda for further discussion.  Pam Kueber from the short-term rental sub-committee stated that there were two sessions of roundtable discussion held yesterday, with good conversation and suggestions coming out of them.  She asked that people take the time to complete the survey on the Town’s website.

Consent Agenda:  A Hold was placed on the appointment of Matthew Fenton as a reserve police officer.  MOTION by EL, seconded by KF to approve the consent agenda as follows:  approve a one-day W&M license to Ventfort Hall for 11/25 from 5-9:30pm; approve a one-day A/A license to Birchwood Inn for 12/31; grant permission to Philip Rennie to sell Christmas trees at 969 East Street from 11/24-12/25 from 9am-9pm; grant a common victualler and entertainment license to TIG Restaurants, LLC d/b/a Bobby Mac’s; appoint Mindi Morin as an Affordable Housing Trustee; acceptance of monetary donation to the Fire Department.  4/0 vote.  After the Board stated that they were happy to see Matthew Fenton continuing to work his way through the police department, MOTION by WA, seconded by KF to appoint Matthew Fenton as a reserve police officer.  4/0 vote.

BNRC, High Road Project:  Mackenzie Greer from BNRC, along with Becky Cushing from MA Audubon, spoke about the desire to connect existing conservation land to the communities with walking trails.  They are hoping to connect Pittsfield and Lenox via a walking trail; no dogs or motorized vehicles would be allowed.  Additional details will follow as this project moves forward.

BOS Reports:  WA stated that he is working with the CAO on his letter to the Governor regarding PCBs.  KF thanked Pam Kueber for presenting the Board with an update on the STR roundtable discussions.  He suggested that maybe a student would like to be a liaison to the Board, something that was done many years ago.  EL stated that the heat is now on at the Community Center and that the pumping station project is just about complete.  DR thanked the Town for their support of our veterans.  He also thanked Morris School for the wonderful veterans program they put on each year.  He announced the resignation of Tim Flanigan from the Conservation Commission.

By roll call, DR, KF, EL and WA voted to go into Executive Session at 7:40pm to discuss strategy with respect to real property acquisition.
