The chairman congratulated the Lenox boys baseball team on winning the Western MA championship game against McCann School.
MOTION by EL, seconded by DR to accept the Minutes of June 1. 4/0 vote with KF abstaining.
Consent Agenda: A Hold was placed on the Change of Manager, Lenox Club (reconsideration), Lenox Garden Club Donation and the Solicitation Request from Environment Massachusetts. MOTION by EL, seconded by DR to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Approve a one-day W&M license to Victoria Holt for Friday, 6/17 from 6:30-10pm at St. Ann’s Parish Center; one-day W&M license to Virginia McCormack for Friday, 7/8 from 2-8pm at the Community Center; one-day W&M license to St. Ann’s Church for Saturday, 7/9 from 10am-10pm on the church grounds; acceptance of donation to the Community Center. 5/0 vote. After a brief explanation from the TM, MOTION by EL, seconded by DR to approve the reconsideration of a change of manager for the Lenox Club of Lenox, Inc. 5/0 vote. MOTION by EL, seconded by
CG to accept a donation from the Lenox Garden Club for maintenance of Lilac Park (this will be an annual occurrence). 5/0 vote. MOTION by KF, seconded by DR to deny permission to solicit from June 20-July 8 as requested by Environment Massachusetts. 5/0 vote.
The TM informed the Board about the details of a 5K run that St. Ann’s will be holding on Saturday, July 9 as part of their Summer Festival. The TM suggested that the Board grant permission, subject to insurance, scheduling and public safety plans satisfactory to the TM and Police Chief. MOTION by EL, seconded by DR to grant permission for the 5K run as presented, leaving the various details up to the satisfaction of the TM and Police Chief. 5/0 vote.
Following a brief explanation from the TM as to the various changes made to the contracts, MOTION by EL, seconded by DR to approve of the FY17-19 police and fire collective bargaining agreements as presented. 5/0 vote.
MOTION by EL, seconded by DR that the sale of the $1,860,000 Anticipation Serial Loan – Sewerage Improvements of the Town dated June 23, 2016 (the “Note”), to Eastern Bank, at the price of $1,860,000 is hereby approved and confirmed. The Note shall be payable on December 23, 2016, and shall bear interest at the rate of 0.75%. 5/0 vote.

Solar Projects: KF briefly updated the Board on the permitting process for Ameresco’s development of the Willow Creek Road landfill.
BOS Reports: CG stated that the beach will open tomorrow, 10-6, with lifeguards. He also mentioned that the Board needs to appoint an alternate to the BRPC. DR mentioned the James Van Der Zee art exhibit that will be opening at the Welles Gallery soon. KF stated that sewer and water bills were due 6/6, and that demands will be going out on 6/21. EL went through the various paving jobs occurring over the next several months. WA brought up the need for the Board to act as a tree commission as there are some trees on Walker Street that need to be looked at.
By roll call, CG, EL, DR, WA and KF voted to go into Executive Session at 7:45pm to discuss strategy with respect to negotiations with non-union personnel.
