Minutes – June 5, 2013; meeting called to order at 6:00pm. Present: Present: Ken Fowler; Ed Lane; Dave Roche; John McNinch. Absent: Channing Gibson.
The Board interviewed those interested in serving on the Town Manager Search Committee. MOTION by DR, seconded by KF to appoint the following individuals: Mary Jo Piretti, Marybeth Mitts, Fran Vahle, Kameron Spaulding, Jay Carberry and Carlo Zaffanella as an alternate member. 4/0 vote. It was agreed to hold a joint meeting with the Board and the Committee as well as a member from the MRI team on Thursday, June 13 at 5:30pm.
Village Parking: The Board discussed the issue of parking within the downtown area, and EL suggested that the following be implemented, starting July 1, 2013: Erect a sign at the downtown intersections, use some of the advertising money to pay an Explorer $300/week for ten weeks to patrol parking violators, and to send a letter out to all of the village businesses suggesting that they request their employees park either behind the Town Hall or bank, or at the Old Center Street or Orebed Park. In addition, the Police Chief will walk around, notifying the businesses of this decision. MOTION by KF, seconded by JM to approve of the above plan as outlined by EL. 4/0 vote.
MOTION by KF, seconded by EL to grant a Farm-Winery Special Seasonal License to Carr’s Ciderhouse from May 24 to October 11, 2013, Fridays from 1-5pm. 4/0 vote.
