Historic District Commission Meeting Minutes 03/19/2013
Historic District Commission
Minutes
Land Use Meeting Room
March 19, 2013

Members present: Chair Jason Berger, JB Steve Sample, SS; Lucy Kennedy, LK; and Elaine Steinert, ES

Staff present: Peggy Ammendola, PA

PVI Lenox Village, LLC, Nejaime’s Wine Cellar 60-68 Main St., Map 43 Parcel 196-new signage and one additional entry door.

Presenting the application was Drew Davis of PVI and Joe Nejaime.  Mr. Nejaime described the material, color, size and placement of two signs.  If the measurements given for the larger irregular shaped sign at the furthest edges were used to calculate square footage, the sign would exceed the 12 square feet allowed.  A short discussion ensued on the Building Inspector’s approach as to whether he would use those dimensions or if he would calculate the actual space within the outer edge of the proposed sign.  Mr. Nejaime agreed to adjust the size in order to comply with the Building Inspector’s interpretation.

Mr. Nejaime presented designs for a second door next to the existing front door.  He said that the two doors would allow for ease of egress.

ES made a motion to approve the signs as presented subject to the Building Inspector’s interpretation as to the measurements and to approve the second new door as presented.  LK seconded the motion.  The Commission voted to approve 4-0.

Housatonic LLC, 35 Church St., Map 43 Parcel 170  has requested permission to demolish the existing non-conforming common walkway and reconstruct the common walkway with conforming details according to Lenox building codes.

Jonathan Molk reviewed the plans for the proposed improvement.  SS made a motion to approve the proposal as presented.  ES seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 4-0.

Minutes-March 5, 2013: SS made a motion to accept the minutes as written and ES seconded the motion.  The Commission voted to approve 4-0.

SS made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  LK seconded the motion and the Commission voted to adjourn at 6:05 pm.

Respectfully submitted,
Peggy Ammendola
