Whitney Asher, 27 Housatonic St., Map 43 Parcel 176, sign.
Presenting his application was Mr. Asher. Mr. Asher is opening a small European wine bar under the name of Brava.  He has received all of his permits, licenses and approvals and now is asking for approval of his sign, a vinyl application on the window of the establishment.   

SS made a motion to approve the sign as presented.  KF seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 3-0.

Jay Baver, 12 Housatonic St., Map 43 Parcel 171, sign.
Mr. Baver presented his application for Berkshire Outdoors and Berkshire Naturals, a year round retail business selling apparel, body care products and vitamins.  The sign will be on the existing sign post.
  
KF made a motion to approve the sign as presented in the location described.  SS seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 3-0.

Eiran Gazit, 51 Walker St., (Gateways Inn) Map 43 Parcel 165:  Two applications, one for a birdbath and the other for a patio.  

Mr. Gazit presented his applications.  The first application was to remove an existing birdbath and to install a stone fountain in the front lawn and the second application was to install a 500 square foot Goshen stone patio on the south side of the building, facing the Community Center.

KF made a motion to approve the application for a 6’ high stone fountain with a four foot wide pool on the front lawn of the existing building as presented.  SS seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 3-0.

SS made a motion to approve the 500 square foot patio as presented.   KF seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 3-0.

Approve Minutes-June 5, 2012- The minutes were tabled until there is a quorum.

Other Business:
  • SS told the Commissioners that he believes that the Town Planner will have a copy of the draft bylaw for the HDC for the next HDC meeting.  He also said that hopefully the Planning Board will be able to take care of the sandwich signs during the summer and that hopefully the HDC will be ready early in September to move forward with the other part of it.
  • KF spoke to Jim Harwood, former member who is an architect, about the need to have an architect on the Commission.  In the conversation Mr. Harwood suggested that there be a pool of architects to call upon.  
KF made a motion to adjourn.  SS seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned at 6:17 pm.
