Sushi Bar Asian Cuisine, 9 Franklin St. Map 43 Parcel 81, sign. On July 5, 2011 the HDC determined that the sign submitted did not have sufficient detail to determine if proposed sign was appropriate, and requested that applicant provide a mock up of the sign for the July 19 meeting.
Present was Mr. Wang. He brought a print out of the proposed sign which measures two feet by three feet. The letters will be black, all the same size, and the background will be white. The sign will be hung from the existing post where the previous business had their sign.
ES made a motion to accept the sign as presented to be placed in the same location as before. CC seconded the motion and the Commissioners voted 3-0 to approve.
Church Street Holdings 65 Church St., Map 43 Parcel 179, replace existing sign.
Making the presentation was of Marcus Chambers of Lenox Restaurant Group. (Church Street Holdings is the property owner of record.) Mr. Chambers explained that the new sign will be the same color as the existing Church Street Café sign and will be made of the same material which is wood. The only change will be that in place of the tree symbol there will be a leaf. The colors are red background with brown letters.
CC made a motion to accept the sign as presented with the leaf replacing the tree that is on the existing sign and ES seconded the motion. The Commission voted to approve 3-0.
Mr. Chambers asked if the colors are changed, would they have to wait for approval before putting up their sign. SS said that in that instance, if a complaint is filed with the Building Inspector, the sign would have to come down until the HDC approved.
Minutes: July 5, 2011-CC made a motion to approve the minutes of July 5, 2011 and ES seconded the motion. The Commission voted to approve 3-0.
Other business: Following up on the HDC’s request of July 5, 2011 that PA check with the Department of Public Works regarding a missing directional sign from the corner of Franklin and Church, PA advised that Jeff Vincent, Superintendent of the DPW informed her that the previous sign was lost during the construction. A new sign is slated to be installed.
CC made a motion to adjourn at 6:00 pm and ES seconded the motion. The Commission voted to adjourn 3-0.
