Austen Riggs Center, 33 Main St., Map 43 Parcel 21. Installation of two residential style “carriage lamps” mounted on light posts. Dan McCarthy and Karen Laroque presented the application. They wish to install one light at the entrance to driveway and another by the walkway. The style proposed is similar to the lighting used by an abutter and the Lenox Library. Both lights will have motion detectors so that they are not on for extended periods. Flood lights are now on back of building. The proposed lighting will be 40 watt with frosted lens. JH made a motion to approve the two historically appropriate light fixtures as presented. SS seconded the motion and the Commission approved 3-0.
5:45 pm Tabitha Vahle 7 Walker Street, Map 43 Parcel 166 (In the Curtis), sign. Continued from July 7, 2009. Tabitha Pickett-Vahle made the presentation. The applicant discussed putting up two other signs in addition to the community sign. The Commission recessed briefly to go across the street to look at the proposed signage locations. Ms. Pickett-Vahle decided that she wanted to reconsider her design. JH made a motion to continue the hearing to August 4, 2009 and SS seconded the motion. The Commission voted to agree 3-0.
Minutes: JH made a motion to approve the minutes of July 7, 2009 with one correction and SS seconded the motion. The Commission voted to agree 3-0.
JH made a motion to adjourn the meeting and SS seconded the motion. The Commission voted to agree 3-0.
