Minutes of Meeting - October 6, 2004


Members Present:   Joseph A. Kellogg, Chair, Marie V. Feder, Andrew J.  Breslin


Chair J. Kellogg called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Lenox Town Hall. Minutes of the September 1, 2004 meeting were reviewed and signed by all members.

Cynthia Gluck was present with an application for a massage license.  The Board reviewed the application, determined that it contained the required information and all members signed the document, designating their approval.   

M. Feder reminded the Board of several upcoming meetings, namely the Tri-Town meeting on October 19th, and the Berkshire County Boards of Health Association on October 21st at Cranwell.  

Gregory Federspiel, Town Manager, was present and a brief discussion was held relative to adopting Pay As You Throw regulations to encourage recycling.  He agreed to provide the Board with copies of regulations from other communities to use as a model.  Additional discussions were held regarding the recent water restrictions and the need to adopt a bylaw, prohibiting irrigation with potable water.  

The mail was read and included the following:


?       letter from Maxymillian Technologies advising of an Immediate Response Action taken on behalf of the DPW relative to the release of #2 fuel oil from an underground storage tank at the Brunell Avenue Pump Station
?       postcard from Rebecca Elish, withdrawing her massage license application
?       copy of letter from Kathleen Phelps to Mory Brenner ordering him to correct Sanitary Code Violations at Apartment B, 522 Walker Street
?       copy of letter from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services to Peter Kolodziej, advising of a meeting of the special commission to assist in the implementation of the smoke-free workplace law
?       copy of letter to Edward Rensin from Peter Kolodziej, advising that a septic system at 47 Sargent Brook Road failed a recent Title 5 inspection

?       copy of letter to Congressman John Olver from Peter Kolodziej, asking for support of Tri-Town’s application to attend an indoor air quality symposium in Washington
?       copy of letter from Kathleen Phelps to Kelly Granger & Parsons relative to the need to submit documentation with soil information following perc tests
?       copy of letter to Cindy Belair, Animal Control Officer, from Peter Kolodziej regarding a dog bite at the Berkshire Mobile Home Park
?       copy of letter to the Mass DEP from Peter Kolodziej advising of their readiness to issue a permit for a tight tank at 12 Sargent Brook Road
?       copy of letter to Mass DEP from Peter Kolodziej, supporting proposed regulations for establishing separate standards for the disposal of greywater


There being no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
