Lenox Finance Committee Meeting

February 22, 2018
Meeting called to order at 5:30 PM.  

TM provided summary of the recommended FY 2019 budget.  

EM discussed moving more money to PRIT as an effort to front loan OPEB.

Also discussions on need for broadband high-speed internet thru out all of Lenox.

March 1, 2018
Meeting called to order at 5:30 PM.  
TM and DC provided summary of Fire Department, Emergency Management and Ambulance Squad budgets.  Net change is $4,121.  No concerns with the budget.

DC also spoke of recommendation to maintain two (2) paramedics on duty at all times.  This could be in combination of EMT and Fire Dept staff and would eliminate the $4,600 currently paid monthly to Pittsfield.  Initial cost to Town would be about $150,000 split evenly between employee and equipment.  Savings plus ability to bill more would offset the bulk of the startup costs and eventual be a new profit center.  FinnCom was in favor of the recommendation, and TM will discuss with BOS and return with formal request and revised budget.
