Absent with notification:  Rose Fitzgerald Casey, RFC; Tim Flanagan, TF

Request for Determination of Applicability, Lynn Campana for property located at 13 Taconic Ave., Map 12 Parcel 8.  Tree removal.

Due to safety concerns, Ms. Campana requested permission to remove trees that were dead or dying.  Kevin Holden will be doing the removal with the aid of a crane. The stumps will not be disturbed and all other debris will be removed.    

Site visit: June 28, 2012 attended by NC, JS, VA, TF and Mr. Holden.

DF made a motion to issue a Negative III Determination.   JS seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 5-0.

Approve minutes: June 7, 2012-DL made a motion to approve the minutes.  DF seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 5-0.
Note: The June 21, 2012 meeting was canceled as there were no items on the agenda.

Other Business:  Certificate of Compliance Toole Properties 2011, Inc., 439, 449 and 461 Pittsfield Rd., Map 50/Map 33-Lot 1/Lot1.1, Lot 2.  The DEP file number for this project is 198-0246.

Site visit:  July 11, 2012.  NC and TF reviewed the work completed and found that it was in compliance with the Order of Conditions.

DF made a motion to issue the Certificate of Compliance. VA seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 5-0.  

Stinging ants:  Eldridge Adams, Professor, Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Connecticut contacted PA requesting permission to collect samples of an invasive stinging ant that is spreading in the Berkshires.  Mr. Adams has seen the ant workers at War Memorial Field so it is this site and the wetlands that lie between that site and Routes 7 and 20 where he wishes to obtain samples.  PA contacted NC.  NC, knowing that the wetlands were on property owned by John Paladino, contacted Mr. Paladino and PA contacted Town Manager Greg Federspiel.  Both Mr. Paladino and Mr. Federspiel approved the request.  Mr. Federspiel will advise the School Department as War Memorial Field is a school property.

DF made a motion to adjourn the meeting and VA seconded the motion.  The Commission voted 5-0 to adjourn at 8:00 pm.
