Notice of Intent, Katharine Goodland, 15 Ash St., Map 47 Parcel 25. Installation of a small drainage system connecting to an existing town storm drain pipe running through their property and other related work on the land. MA file number WE 198-0259 received.
Craig Okerstrom-Lang of Okerstrom-Lang Landscape Architects represents the applicant, but due to a conflict was unable to attend. Brian Turton of New England Landscape and Aquatics made the presentation.
JS disclosed that he is an abutter and the applicant’s representative had no objections to his participation.
Present was one abutter, Betsy Strauch.
As a result of the site visit on November 12, 2010 the Commission determined that the wetland was an isolated wetland therefore it is non-jurisdictional.
Mr.Turton stated that the property is on the edge of an isolated wetland. The work proposed will include piping the two gutters and two sump pumps to the Town of Lenox storm drains. There will also be a surface drain installed on the northwest corner of the property. This drain will be at grade level. It is also proposed that there will be rain gardens with native plants.
Craig Okerstrom-Lang of has been in touch with Jeff Vincent, the Superintendent of Public Works, and noted that the DPW will be present at the time of construction because the Town must make hook up to the drain pipe.
DL made a motion accept the RDA with a negative 4 determination. JS seconded the motion and the Commission voted to approve 6-0.
