                                             7:00 pm

Attendance:  Shari Gaherty, Tony Patella, Tom McCormack, Kim Graham, Director, and Francie Sorrentino.  Absent:  Shirley Benson, Jim Sorrentino, and Steve Coon.

Public Comment:  NONE

Acceptance of Minutes:  Motion made by Shirley Benson and Seconded by Tom McCormack ~ Minutes accepted.

Senior Report:  The COA picnic was well attended.  The Balloon guy was a big hit, making figures out of the balloons for our guest.  Rene Labauch’s visit was well attended.

Our Curtis friends are now all settled.  New calls are being made and we have five new residents three of the five are a result of referral from a neighbor or Elders Services, and the Gas Company.

Youth Report:  Thanks to Leah Larmon for helping out while Laura was on Maternity leave….WELCOME BACK Laura!

Camp Registrations were held and we got 55 that night – camp begins July 1.  Returning employees are Emma Huber, Seamus Ryan, Emma Haskell, Dan Pignatelli, Hannah Bartini, and Michelle Messana.  Patrick Colvin and Tyler Shepard are CIC.

Coaches Pitch and T-Ball ended last Saturday.  The Pittsfield Suns game schedules for June 14th was cancelled due to rain. We hope to schedule another Suns game in July.  Fall Soccer – Registration ends August 2 with no acceptance as of August 23.  Soccer season starts September 7th.  Friday is the last day of school and the LCC is planning a picnic.

Directors Report:  Kim is pleased to inform us that the Front Entrance is complete, along with new locks.  The next stage with Architect and Jeff Vincent suggests mold trap in the building and cleaning out the gutters.  Kim tells us that the bid will go out in August then we will begin the second stages in September with the project being completed in November.

Summer hires:  Kim asked Horace Williams to leave – this has been a long time coming.  Kim felt that the Center needs a strong summer squad for a good summer program.  Horace neglected to show up at mandatory meetings, was late several times, and the biggest concerns was the Horace talked at the kids rather then to the kids.  Shari asked if these concerns were documented, and Kim replied that she has everything on file.

Beach – Life guards in place (Matt Merritt).  Kim went through Berkshire Jobs .com and Georgette Keator and found two from these sources.  Beach will be open Saturday June 22.  Tom Graham is going to York Rake the Beach to keep the sand loose.

Tom McCormack was talking to Brett Larmon and he volunteers his time with the Soccer season – Youth League.  Mike has it ready to go.

OSRP (open space rec/park) someone suggested a recreation of the Parks and Rec. board – a land management team.  This board would oversee other areas.  This is on the table for discussion OSRP will ask Selectmen their opinion.  We would be Sports fields, Lilac Park, etc.  Kim sees it as two separate things.  There are many resources, re; Edith Wharton, Post Farm, Kennedy Park, etc.  Kim tells us that there are no worries yet; however there have been suggestions made.

New Business/Old Business:  Tom has the idea of doing a 3X3 basket ball tournament.  Tom feels that this is something good for the town to do.  Register teams – double elimination, and have it here at the Center, etc.  No charge except the shirts – a non for profit fun thing to do.  Kim says great idea, do it early for better availability.  Kim offers to help facilitate the program.  Kim suggest the age group be high school- the older kids not younger then 15.  Tom will look further in to this.

Meeting adjourned:  7:38
Next Meeting:  September 18th ~ have a safe and happy summer!!

                                                                     Respectively submitted,
                                                               Francie Sheehan Sorrentino
