Interested in a 2012
LEE COMMUNITY FAIR/OLD HOME DAY?
There will be an exploratory meeting next Thursday,  March 8, at 7pm upstairs at the Safety Complex. We will be discussing the level of interest and~ options regarding  a Community Fair, an Old Home Day, and/or a Harvest Supper (Pig Roast/Chicken BBQ). Tentative location and date: Little River Park, Saturday, September 8, 2012.

The Lee Fair had become part of the fabric and character of the Town of Lee. However, it will no longer be sponsored by the Jeremiah Smith Grange, the Lee Church Congregational, or the Lee Fireman's Association. Over the past few months many residents have expressed   interest in continuing a community wide and town
sponsored event in its stead.

All Town Boards, Commissions and Committees are invited to send representatives, and any interested citizens are heartily encouraged to attend this exploratory meeting. Your ideas, comments~ and any interest in participating in would be appreciated!~Hope to see you there! If you cannot attend please forward~ any communications to~ Laurel Cox at lcox@leenh.org.

LEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Once again this year, the Conservation Commission will be sponsoring a full campership for an eligible Lee youngster. The campership will be at Barry 4-H Conservation Camp and is for kids ages 10 to 16.

This camp is operated by the UNH Cooperative Extension 4-H program in cooperation with the NH Department of Fish and Game. It is located in the White Mountain National Forest at the Berlin Fish Hatchery and is a great program for kids who love the outdoors, enjoy hands-on learning in environmental and conservation programs and can benefit from participating in a small camp. We have been told that the program is filling rapidly – so if you are interested and eligible, contact Laura Gund at 659-2044 or walgrove@comcast.net as soon as possible. To learn more about the camp go to: www.extension.unh.edu

NEWS from MCGREGOR MEMORIAL EMS:
Our Community Bike Helmet Program: One important way for kids to stay safe is to always wear a helmet when riding a bicycle. We offer helmets for very low cost through bulk purchasing (thanks to the partnership with Safe Kids NH). We are able to offer free helmets to those who cannot afford them through our partnership with the Brain Injury Association of NH. Please go to our website: www.mcgregorems.org and click on “Community Resources” to get a form!
