High Rd Bridge Update- As of 9/26/2011
Things are progressing along well now at the site. The weather has been cooperative and the contractor has been able to free up some manpower from other jobs to assist at the High Rd. project. The contractor has poured the East side abutment footing (86 yards of concrete) and has the forms and rebar all up for the East abutment wall (see picture above). They are hoping to pour this wall Wednesday the 28th. When that is completed they will pour the West side abutment footing (128 cubic yards of concrete). Then they will come back and pour the wing walls on the East side. The contractor is concentrating on the east wall as they have a lot of excavation for the retaining walls on that side which they can not start until the walls are up.
The engineer’s reports which come every week are now posted on the Town’s website Home Page under the heading Quick Links-High Rd Bridge. Click HERE to view the reports. The reports are quite informative and include photos of the progress.

Attention Seniors...
The annual enrollment period for the Medicare Part D (drug) benefit program will be held October 15 – December 7 for prescription coverage starting January 1, 2012. We are all aware of the high cost of prescriptions, and these costs can create a real burden to seniors already on a fixed income with no Social Security cost of living increase in recent years. The process of comparing and choosing the best plan for you can be overwhelming, but fortunately Servicelink can help!! This service is free and confidential. They will assist by helping you choose the coverage that is best for YOU. Remember, you can only change your plan between October 15 and December 7, so please call Servicelink soon at 332-7398 to get an appointment for an individual review and enrollment in the 2012 drug program.

"One-Check"
This past week the Town Clerk (Linda Reinhold), Interim Town Administrator (Chester Murch), Town Bookkeeper (Joanne Clancy) and IT Director (Chris Buslovich) met with People's Bank to go over the process to transmit funds directly to the State of NH for vehicle registrations.
